dear internet,

it's me, scott.

up until last thursday, i had never tasted a sweet potato. i think it was the orange-ness that turned me off, but i'm not really sure. maybe it was the fact that this "potato" looked like mushy pudding? in any case, my mommy made them for thanksgiving, and i felt obliged to try some. and you know what? they're actually pretty good! so i now feel like i have cultured myself by trying new foods that everybody else in the entire world has probably been eating since they were six years old.

my "weekend" was fantastic! aside from having thursday and friday off from work, i saw friends every night, and drank about a gallon of apple juice. yum! i think if i continue on this trend, i may turn into an apple. which would probably not impress any females i might be interested in, because, after all, how many girls have you ever heard walking around saying that they are in love with an apple?

anyway.

i was invited to go to "thanksgiving eve drunkfest 99" after work on wednesday night, but declined over an opportunity to see some girl i like, instead. i hope nobody is mad at me!! i'm sure there will be more times to go out with coworkers, right?

it's strange driving around madison at night and seeing all kinds of houses lit up with christmas lights. aside from it not seeming any later than august, there is no snow on the ground, and i can't remember the last time it hasn't snowed before thanksgiving around here. although, i may be wrong, because i seem to remember last year being a relatively mild winter. i just dread winter driving. i hope i don't get into an accident this winter!

also, i hope to go skiing. i was going to go last year with ginger, but it ended up raining on the day we were planning to head out, and we didn't make it. and, in turn, i didn't make it onto the slopes at all, which is sad. i used to ski a lot a few years ago!

love,
scott.
