dear internet,

it's me, scott. happy y2k!

well, it's 8am and i've already been at work sitting in front of a computer screen for two hours. my y2k-eve was very uneventful, and i am disappointed for a few reasons which i won't go into detail mentioning, other than to say that plans i'd had didn't really work out, and my desire to see the first sunrise of the 21st century with someone special didn't happen.

bah.

i did catch the last sunset of the 20th century driving to visit my sister last night, however, and i think it was one of the most beautiful i've seen! the sky was orange in some places, pink in others, purple in yet others. i tried taking pictures, but they didn't turn out. we ate pineapple chicken (yum) at my sister's place, headed downtown, missed out on the childrens' museum due to lack of funds (ten dollars to get in! yikes!!), tried climbing on top of a train to watch the fireworks only to find a boxcar full of coal, prayed, drove home and passed the most devistating car accident i've ever seen. the entire front of a car was on fire, and people were lying on the pavement in the middle of the street. very sobering, even when i hadn't had a thing to drink all night.

got home, set the alarm for 5:30am, and snuggled with kitty until i fell asleep. i think that was the best part of the night.

josh is snoring at his desk right now, and i think i'm going to crawl under mine and take a short nap. there's nothing to do, and i need some sleep.

love,
scott.
